First, vocabulary. We did our usual rigamarole and then you got some new words:
- sciss – cut – scissors, as in a device used for cutting
- sec, sect – cut – as in dissect, to cut apart
- sens, sent – feel, to be aware – as in sentient, capable of feeling or being aware
- serv – serve, protect – as in servant, a person who’s job is to serve
For the rest of today we’ll discuss some of the narrative background to Antigone, and maybe even get started on reading it.
