Today we’re going to quick-review of the vampire chapter from Foster. The key element here is that the vampire (represents an older, outworn set of values) attempts to steal/corrupt/destroy the “virgin” (new, burgeoning values). We’ll try talking about where the vampire impulse is in RAISIN, and I’ll collect your books.
THEN I’m going to introduce the new play: A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
We’re going to do a 15 minute “production” of the play using some key lines. Then I’ll give a plot overview. My hope is that we’ll get to know the basics of the play before we start reading it tomorrow.
