Today is a writing day.
The plan was to introduce Task 2, but I don’t think that’s a good idea anymore. I think so many of you are stressed out about Task 1 that my words would go in one ear and out the other.
And today we’ll write.
Two quick notes of essay ambulance:
- When you’re using Google Comments for first say, highlight ONLY the part of the paper you’re talking about–a few words or a sentence at most. Otherwise, it makes it hard to see my comments later. You can see an example of what NOT to do here and an example of the RIGHT way to do it here.
- In MLA style, titles of short stories go in quotes, like “Hills Like white Elephants,” whereas titles of books go in italics, like We Were Liars. The rule of thumb is that an ENTIRE thing gets italics, while something that might be part of something bigger gets quotation marks. You can see some samples below:
